How you can help an artist with breast cancer ‘Color for a Cause’

Gail Arceneaux, a local artist who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, is inviting the community to take an art class to raise money for her treatment.

Gail’s unique talent is creating pieces with color pencil and she hopes she can share some tip with the community.

Arceneaux’s diagnosis came as a surprise and she is trying to keep a positive outlook in this difficult time.

“I was very very surprised you know I’ve been healthy God forever. I think the only operation I’ve ever had was a gall bladder operation a couple of years ago. I’ve been really healthy so it was a shock when they called me cause I had my first mammogram it was about two months ago and they called me and said warning you know something’s not right,” said Gail.

However, Gail is hoping for a miracle and says she will not give up.

The classes will be held at the Littlewood Co-Op, located at 1480 S. 2nd Ave. from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9.

Classes are $20 and all supplies are provided to those who attend.

All of the money raised will go towards Gail’s treatment.
