Reward offered for information on hit-and-run with motorcyclist
A motorcyclist nearly loses his life in an alleged hit-and-run collision. Now his family is offering a $2,000 reward to bring the suspect to justice.
A Calexico father said his family is devastated. His 26-old son nearly lost his life recently, and they’re willing to pay a reward to bring whoever’s responsible to justice.
William Gerhart , the victim’s father, said, “My son is having emergency for a surgery to repair his hipbone – pelvic bone which severed his artery in his leg.”
His son was riding a black Kawasaki motorcycle on Friday around 5 a.m. He stopped at the corner of Andrade and Cole Boulevard in Calexico .
“I believe he was going east and a person came up and just rear-ended him and knocked him over the curb and that’s where he had the impact,” Gerhart said.
The driver fled the scene.
” It could’ve been a gray or grayish pickup truck. He said it was dodge before he had impact, ” Gerhart said.
His son is in critical condition at a San Diego hospital undergoing surgery.
” They fractured his pelvic bone which cut his main artery in his leg. They had to repair it, ” Gerhart said.
Calexico police said the investigation is ongoing. The family wants justice.
” I just want proof. And I’m offering $2,000 cash. No questions asked just for proof and conviction. That’s all, ” Gerhart said.
