ORIGINAL STORY:

On Friday evening, several farmers gathered outside a company’s property on reports of stolen farm equipment inside.
Farmers told KSWT that these trailers, worth around $36,000, were stolen from their property.
One farmer said his trailers had been missing for three weeks and had been tracked to the location thanks to a GPS attached to the equipment.
Another farmer said his trailer had already been painted a new color, and another, had its lights taken out.
“It looks like they were in the process of actually starting to paint, they had taken off the lights and everything, but thankfully someone got here in time and saw them,” said David Tapia, with Vessey & Company in Holtville.

Tapia said the equipment is essential to AG workers everyday responsibilities.

Tapia added, “Without this equipment, we can’t do our job. We can’t harvest what we have on the ground. So it’s very frustrating.”
One farmer said police were able to confirm a trailer was his based on a vehicle identification number but was not sure when it would be released back to him.
“If I have to stay here all night I will,” one farmer said.
We will update this article as more details become available.
