Imperial Transit Park officially opening Tuesday, April 2

The city of Imperial, along with the Imperial County Transportation Commission, is inviting the community to attend the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Imperial Transit Park on April 2, at 9:00 a.m.

Located on the corner of Barioni and M Street, the Imperial Transit Park facility will allow commuters quick connections to transit stops locally through the region. The park will include amenities like bus shelters, shade structures, benches, bike racks, solar lighting, and parking.

The project started in August 2018 with the cost totaling at $1.8 million and was funded in part by the Federal Transit Administration, Public Transportation Modernization Improvement, Service Enhancement Account Program, and the California Transit Security Grant Program.
