Suspect facing charges of arson and attacking an officer back in court

The minor in custody on charges of arson and attacking an officer was back in court Wednesday morning to learn when both trials will start.

Police said 17-year-old Kane Perez confessed to starting the fire that burned down the Vincent Wolfe Imaginary Playground in 2014.

Judge David Hawes said he will need to know how long the trial for both cases will take and which case will be tried first.

He then granted more time to set a trial.

Perez will also have the chance to take a plea agreement.

The teen will be back in court next month.
