Inaugural BBQ and Brew hopes to start a new tradition in Yuma

If you’re looking for mouth-watering food and an ice cold beer we have the place for you.

This weekend residents in Yuma came with an appetite to enjoy the all delicious food and beer the inaugural BBQ and Brew festival had to offer.

The event was organized by the city of Yuma Heritage Festivals Marketing Specialist, Carrie Ring and Heritage Festivals Coordinator, Joanne Fiser.

Chris Wheeler, owner of Prison Hill Brewing Co. hopes the event can be a lasting tradition in the city.

“Introduce the craft brew element into it. Tag that along with the beer festival you’re talking about something that’s good for the population. A good economic driver. It’s good for all the businesses down here. We’re all crowded. And it makes Yuma in the winter time something to do something to talk about,” said Wheeler

There were outdoor games and a mechanical bull and a country music concert each night.
