California man arrested on suspicion of infant’s death
Authorities say a Southern California man has been arrested following the death of his 6-month-old daughter.
The Sun reports Alfonso Ornelas was arrested on suspicion of murder and assault on a child causing death after the baby died at a hospital Saturday.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says deputies were called to a home in Yucaipa after the baby was reported to be not breathing.
Authorities have not said what caused her death.
The death is being investigated by the crimes against children and homicide detail.
Jail records show that Ornelas was being held without bail Sunday at a detention center in San Bernardino.
It wasn’t immediately known if the 28-year-old has an attorney.
