CBP discover almost $191K worth of meth hidden throughout vehicle
Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Mexican national who allegedly attempted to smuggle almost $191,000 worth of methamphetamine hidden throughout his vehicle at the Port of San Luis Thursday.
CBP officials said officers referred the driver of a Ford sedan, identified as a 29-year-old Mexican man, for additional inspection as he attempted to enter the United States early Thursday morning. A CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to the vehicle and led to the discovery of almost 30 packages of methamphetamine. The drugs were found hidden in the front bumper, backseats, and quarter panels weighing nearly 28 pounds, worth about $191,000.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle. The man was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
