Rodeo weekend preview
It’s Yuma Staple seventy-four years strong and now it’s the time to get out your cowboy boots and head out to the rodeo.
500 contenders are preparing for rodeo weekend and there will be some classics as well as some comebacks.
“We brought back Madison McDonald who was here several years ago, she’s an 8-year old that goes by the name of Piper who will be doing trick riding in the arena,” said Janes Kilkelly, 2019’s Service Rodeo Chairman.
Rodeo announcer, Dan Fowlie, said that rodeo is a universal language that gives a platform to important causes.
“The man up the program and it saddens me that there is a need for it but I’m ecstatic that the rodeo addresses things like these, so ask our supporters to wear purple this Friday to put an end to domestic violence,” said Fowlie.
If you and your family are looking for something to do, the rodeo begins Friday and ends Sunday. The gates open at noon and the rodeo starts at 2 p.m.
