Suspect in custody in fatal shooting following Phoenix party
Authorities say a suspect is in custody after a man was fatally shot while leaving a Phoenix apartment after a party.
Phoenix police say 60-year-old Hans Campos has been booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
It was unclear Monday if Campos has a lawyer yet who can speak on his behalf.
Police say Campos is accused of shooting 31-year-old Gregory Simmons around 10 p.m. Sunday at an apartment complex.
They say Simmons was found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses told police that Campos was carrying a handgun during the party and had grown belligerent as the evening progressed.
