ICSO Investigating Officer Involved Shooting

According to officials, at about 9 A.M. on February 2, Imperial County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 23-year-old male from Lemoore CA for a burglary committed near the Pilot Knob trailer park in Winterhaven CA.

According to a post on their Facebook page, the suspect was also linked to a stolen vehicle located in the same area.

According to ICSO, “The suspect attempted to stab a deputy several times with a knife while he was in transit to the Imperial County Jail. The deputy was not injured during this incident.”

Authorities say, as a result, the suspect received gunshot wounds and a knife was found on the scene .

According to ICSO, the suspect was provided with medical attention and transported out of the County for medical treatment.

Officials say, “The following information is based on a preliminary and ongoing investigation, which continues to evolve as investigators interview witnesses, review physical evidence and analyze forensic evidence.”
