CBP: $26K worth of meth discovered inside vehicle’s A/C blower

Border Patrol agents confiscated $26,000 worth of methamphetamine that was found inside the air conditioner blower of a Chevrolet Blazer at the Highway 86 checkpoint Thursday.

Customs and Border Protection said the seizure happened at around 4:45 p.m. when a 36-year-old man driving a blue Chevrolet Blazer arrived at the checkpoint. A canine detection team alerted to the vehicle leading agents to refer the vehicle for secondary inspection.

During the inspection, agents found 14 packages hidden inside the air conditioner blower. It was determined that the substance had the characteristics of methamphetamine.

The drugs weighed about 10 pounds and were estimated to be valued at $26,000.

The vehicle, methamphetamine, and the man will be turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
