FBI: Sexual Assault reports increasing at an ‘Alarming rate’

The number of sexual assault cases reported during commercial air flights increasing at an ‘alarming rate’ and the number of actual cases could be much higher, according to the FBI.

FBI investigations state the number of cases reported has increased by 66 percent from the fiscal year 2014 to 2017.

The FBI also stated that they have opened 63 investigations into sexual assault cases on aircraft in 2017, compared with 57 in 2016, 40 in 2015 and 38 in 2014.

The Imperial Valley airport is taking a stand on those numbers making the safety of its passengers their priority.
