Driver hospitalized after rollover crash on I-8

UPDATE (4:00 p.m.)

One man was hospitalized after driving across the Interstate 8 median and crashing into a wall Wednesday afternoon.

The driver involved in the rollover incident was only identified as a 34-year-old man by authorities.

California Highway Patrol said he was driving westbound on Interstate 8 towards California. He then crossed the center median into the eastbound lanes where he crashed into a wall on the bridge that goes over an extension of the Colorado River.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor, authorities said.
