Arizona ranks 10th among states hit hard by government shutdown

With the government shutdown in its second week, some states are being impacted more than others.

According to a new WalletHub report, Arizona ranks number 10 on the list for states most affected by the government shutdown.

The personal finance website compared all 50 states and the District of Columbia using public information – the state’s share of federal contract dollars per capita, access to national parks, real estate, amount of federal jobs, and percentage of families receiving food stamps.

The District of Columbia is feeling the brunt of the government shutdown the most. New Mexico and Maryland round out the top three.
