Trial set for man allegedly involved in alleyway shooting

One of the two men charged in connection to an alleyway shooting earlier back in May was in court.

Thursday to set a jury and a trial date for his case which will be in mid-March .

Judge David Haws said, “if I set it for this in A pril will your client be ok with that?”

After which, Munoz looked at his attorney who said, “anything earlier?”

Munoz continued to shake his head and said, “I’ve already been here 8 months your honor, my trial was supposed to be on the 27th of November.”

Judge Haws reiterated to Munoz that time has been excluded to his sentence while he has been awaiting his trial.

According to Yuma police, at around noon on May 23, officers responded to a report of hearing shots fired.

The initial investigation revealed that three vehicles were involved and multiple shots were fired.

All three cars left the scene.

Both a male and female who had been injured, were in the same car and were able to drive themselves to Yuma Regional Medical Center.
