Sureos gang member suspected of illegal entry arrested

Border Patrol agents arrested a Sureños gang member suspected of illegally entering the United States Thursday morning east of the Calexico Port of Entry.

CBP officials said at approximately 9:17 a.m., agents patrolling five miles east of the port of entry found an individual, suspected of illegally entering the country, and arrested him.

He was transported to the El Centro Station where a record check identified the man as a citizen of Mexico. It was also revealed that he has an extensive criminal record.

The man admitted to authorities that he is a Sureños gang member out of Sacramento, Calif.
