San Luis PD: One fatality, driver arrested on DUI and second-degree murder charges

One man is dead and another man is in custody after being involved in a two-vehicle collision Monday morning, according to the San Luis Police Department.

SLPD said a blue Pontiac was traveling northbound on 10th Avenue when the Pontiac struck a red Corvette traveling westbound on Los Alamos Street.

The driver of the blue Pontiac was identified as Brian Silvia-Lopez.

The driver of the red Corvette, identified as Marco Bustamante-Grimaldi, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Silvia-Lopez was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center under charges of driving under the influence and second-degree murder.

Silvia-Lopez’ cash bond has been set at $100,000.

The San Luis Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors to be attentive to all traffic laws and road conditions during this busy holiday season.

If you would like to help the Bustamante family, they have created an account for donations.
