Where to drop-off your Christmas tree

If you’re still celebrating Christmas, we don’t blame you. If you’re not, your clean-up involves getting rid of your natural Christmas tree.

The City of Yuma is offering a drop-off site for those who wish to safely dispose of their natural Christmas trees.

The recycling will begin Dec. 31 at the corner of 13th Street and 3rd Avenue, according to the City of Yuma.

The Recycling Program will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and the same hours from Jan. 2 to Jan. 11.

The city asks you to remove all lights, ornaments, and tinsel before dropping off.

Artificial trees will not be accepted. The city said material from the natural trees will be chipped and reused.

If you miss this opportunity, residents will be able to drop their tree off at Yuma County’s North Gila Transfer Site at Avenue 7E at County 5th Street.

For further information on the City’s Christmas tree recycling program, residents may call 928-373-4504.
