Census: Arizona is the fourth fastest-growing state
Newly released numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau shows Arizona is one of the fastest growing states in the U.S. when it comes to population.
The U.S. Census Bureau found Arizona ranked fourth on the list for population growth. It calculated new residents moving to the state.
Between July 1, 2017 and July 1, 2018, data shows over 122,000 people moved to Arizona. The growth rate stands at 1.7 percent.
Arizona moved up two spots this year. The census’ 2017 report ranked Arizona sixth for population growth and seventh for the number of new residents.
As a whole, data from the census found the U.S. population is growing due to natural increase and international migration.
