Church offers free boxes of food for the holidays

Just ahead of the holidays, a local church in Yuma is giving back to the community by giving away boxes of food.

Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church is hosting their food ministry Saturday from 9 a.m to 11 a.m. The program works with the Yuma Community Food Bank to fight hunger. With the holidays right around the corner, these boxes of food could really benefit families across Yuma County.

The box includes chicken and veggies along with milk and some other items. All you need in order to receive a box is your ID proving your place of residence.

“Come and we will make sure you have enough food. This will help the holiday spirit. Everything is fresh, everything is dated correctly and it’s amazing some of the things we are able to give out because it is just so good, you wanna start cooking,” said Carolyn Adams, St. Paul Food Ministry Coordinator.

The Yuma Food Ministry with Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church is open every other Saturday. For more information, please call (928) 287-1818.
