Local Synergy Home Care resident gets a Christmas room makeover
Manuel “Sonny” Hopper is an assisted living resident at Synergy Home Care, who received an extraordinary surprise from staff.
Melissa Dunn, Owner of SHC, says “Sonny” has been going through a tough time with family and didn’t seem to be happy about the holidays.
Dunn got the SHC staff together and re-decorated his room and even set up a little Christmas tree, to lighten Hopper up and get him in the Christmas spirit.
The smile on Hopper’s face could not be ignored and when talking to him about Christmas tradition, he only had one wish.
“To be able to go home once in a while. I live in a trailer, a trailer that was given to me by my parents. My parents passed away, so I’ve been living there and so after I had my leg amputated, I had to have a little extra help. So I came here and that’s why I am here,” said Hopper.
Hopper also expressed his change of mood and how he is now looking forward to the holidays.
“Oh it’s great, it puts a little Christmas cheer into the season,” said Hopper.
