Report: Arizona is the fifth worst state for holiday thefts

If you’re hoping no one will notice the big, brown package on your porch this holiday season, then you’re living in the wrong state.

That’s because Arizona is among the states in the U.S. with the highest holiday thefts, according to recent report.

Vivintsource.com is a home safety product website. It analyzed FBI data, including robberies, burglaries, auto thefts, and larceny.

According to the website, larceny is the most common crime, with an average of 7,708 instances per state per month, from November to January.

Larceny can often look like packages being lifted from your front porch or shopping bags lifted from your car.

Arizona ranked fifth worst on the list of states with most thefts. The Grand Canyon states has a rate of just over 71 thefts per 10,000 residents, according to data.

New York topped the list with the fewest holiday thefts, with a rate of 28 per 10,000 residents.
