Ex-Mesa attorney gets prison for 2017 crash that killed man

A disbarred Mesa attorney has been sentenced to 10 1/2 years in prison in connection with a 2017 car crash that killed a motorcyclist in Scottsdale.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Tracy Morehouse was sentenced Monday.

She pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder.

The 47-year-old Morehouse was indicted and disbarred as a litigation attorney eight months ago.

Scottsdale police say Morehouse had a blood-alcohol level more than four times the legal limit at the time of the August 2017 fatal crash.

They say Morehouse was driving her car at 84 mph when she struck 45-year-old Greg Dolphin, whose motorcycle was stopped at a red light.

Police say lab tests showed Morehouse’s blood-alcohol content was 0.36 percent. That’s well above the legal limit of 0.08 percent for Arizona drivers.
