Pet Talk: Meet Panther and Rocket

In a Pet Talk first, we are featuring two kittens that are looking to be adopted this holiday season. These kittens aren’t your average cats as both have the feline version of Leukemia. A viral infection that affects their immune system and bone marrow, but is not contagious to humans in any way. This holiday season we hope some very special individuals will look beyond their disabilities and give them a chance at a happy home.

First up is Panther. An appropriate name for this silky black cat. He is said to a 7-month old kitten that is very inquisitive, loves to explore and greets everyone that comes his way. He enjoys playing with toys and is very affectionate. Panther also must be given soft food at all times because he doesn’t have any molars which makes it extremely difficult for him to chew hard food.

Next is his foster sibling, Rocket. He is also very adventurous and loving. Rockets loves to climb and play around. The closer you get to Rocket, the more likely it is that he will end up on your lap as he loves to snuggle.

Both cats have been fostered for months and are now ready for a family that will take the time to care and love them. While both Panther and Rocket both have a shorter lifespan than most cats, they are still very much capable of living a happy life.

If you are interested in either or both cats, you can call the Humane Society of Yuma at (928) 782-1621. They are open Tuesday through Sunday. For more information you can head to Madison Kimbro’s Facebook page @Madisonkyma.
