YCSO truck involved in traffic crash

UPDATE (8:20 p.m.)

A deputy of the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office was hospitalized after being involved in a collision at the intersection of Avenue B and 32nd Street Friday evening.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy was responding to a collision on Avenue A and County 16th 1/2 Street in his patrol truck with lights and sirens activated. The deputy then stopped, slowly entered the intersection of Avenue B and 32nd Street when a passenger vehicle did not stop. Authorities said the vehicle collided with the patrol truck at the intersection.

The deputy involved was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for medical evaluation.

We are receiving reports of a traffic crash involving a Yuma County Sheriff’s Office truck that happened on Avenue B and 32nd Street Friday night.

The woman who was involved in the crash told News 11 that the vehicle involved was a sedan with a family on board.

No word on who was at fault.

No injuries have been reported.
