Man who threw rocks at Yuma Border Patrol agents identified
A Honduran national was taken into custody after setting a tree on fire and throwing rocks at Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents.
According to officials, Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents found footprints from someone who crossed into the country illegally near the Andrade Port of Entry.
The agents, with the help of a CBP marine helicopter, tracked the suspect for almost a mile until they found the man near a tree. Authorities said the man scaled a tree and set it on fire. That’s when he started throwing rocks at agents below him.
There were no reported injuries from the agents, officials said.
The man came down from the tree and was taken into custody.
Yuma Sector Border Patrol identified him as 31-year-old Honduran national Alan Sauzo-Gomez.
