Two dead following Highway 95 collision

The victims in the two-vehicle collision that happened Saturday have been identified, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
DPS said 52-year-old Sheldon Durand, of Yuma, was driving a 1996 Mazda sedan in the southbound lanes when his vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes striking a 2001 Dodge pickup driven by 77-year-old Juan Valenzuela, of Yuma, head-on.
The collision caused the sedan to roll onto its roof catching fire.
DPS said both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 95 Saturday left two people dead.
Authorities received reports of the collision in the area of milepost 32 at 2:52 a.m. Saturday. The crash involved a passenger car and a pickup truck.
Highway 95 between Avenue 9E and Fortuna Blvd was closed for a few hours due to the incident.
DPS did not release the identities of the individuals that died.
Rural Metro Fire Department said there was one individual in each vehicle. Firefighters were also at the scene since one of the vehicles caught on fire.
The incident remains under investigation.
