Local artists to display work all over downtown Yuma

The Yuma Art Center has sponsored an event called the ‘Northend Art Walk’ and will be giving local artists the opportunity to have their work on display, all over downtown.

Judy Phillips is one of the artists that will be displaying her work and she believes this event is excellent for bringing the community together.

“The purpose of the event is to open up the downtown for the merchants and for the artists and you see people that you haven’t seen in a long time, it’s a social gathering,” said Phillips.

The work Phillips will be displaying is handmade and the theme coincides just in time for the holidays.

“I’m going to be displaying this year’s Christmas ornaments, I have people that buy Christmas ornaments from me each year and glass. I made some lacy snowflake, and I will also have a couple of my lamps for sale,” said Phillips.

The event will be happening on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and the community is encouraged to join in on the fun.
