“Hope to Dream” is looking for sponsors
“Hope to Dream” is a nationwide event that Ashley’s Furniture HomeStore holds across the country. The purpose is to give beds to kids in need that unfortunately don’t have beds of their own to sleep on.
The event is December 2nd and it’s in its third year in Yuma. 50 kids have been referred by some of the local school districts in town along with Crossroads Mission to attend this event. The kids will get to watch a 30-minute movie while lounging on a mattress that in turn will become theirs by the end of the night. Dinner and different activity stations will also be offered.
“Kids of our community are the future of our community and Yuma is so good at coming together and rallying for kids whether it be for hunger or beds or clothing or kindness. Ashley has adopted the “Hope to Dream” campaign in hopes to reach out to all the children that don’t have beds in our country. Sleep is so important and every child deserves a bed and then here in Yuma it was adopted three years ago that they started doing this event,” said Kristan Sheppeard, a coordinator for the “Hope to Dream” event.
In order to make a difference in these kids lives, the “Hope to Dream” campaign is asking for the communities help in sponsoring a child or a particular activities station at the event. They are also looking for food donations and toy donations that of which can be dropped off now until December 2nd at either Ashley Furniture HomeStore or Houston’s Yuma Furniture.
