Yuma Regional Medical Center extends primary care services to the Foothills

For residents who don’t live directly in the City of Yuma, traveling for your primary-care may be a bit of a hassle.

Yuma Regional Medical Center is looking to provide convenience to residents in the Foothills after opening YRMC Primary Care-Foothills.

It’s located at 11142 S. Scottsdale Drive just east of the intersection of Interstate 8 and Fortuna Road.

The clinic offers a walk-in clinic and primary care, along with laboratory and imaging services, according to YRMC.

Officials with YRMC said the opening of the clinic is a long-awaited step for both YRMC and patients who will be served by these services.

“For the past several years, we have focused on making sure our main campus facilities are well-positioned to serve our community for decades to come. Now we are looking at how we can extend services closer to where our patients reside,” said Justin Farren, Vice President of Ambulatory Operations for YRMC.

The opening of YRMC Primary Care-Foothills comes after the hospital opened YRMC Primary Care-San Luis in the southwestern corner of the county. This new clinic will help serve residents from the Foothills, Yuma Proving Ground to Tacna, Wellton and Dateland.

Once a imaging destination for YRMC, the new building has been revamped with a sleek, modern design.

With the help of focus groups in the community, YRMC said residents helped shape the new clinic.

“We are excited to offer the added convenience of this beautiful clinic, but we are even more excited about the walk-in nature of YRMC Primary Care- Foothills,” Farren said.

By next year, the clinic will accept scheduled visits and walk-ins.

“That means if that you can come in with an urgent need and then follow up with scheduled appointments at that same clinic,” Farren added. Since the clinic is connected to YRMC’s medical records system, patients at the new primary care clinic will be able access the information somewhere else within the YRMC family of clinics. “All of this further solidifies the organization’s commitment to improve the health and well being of the community we serve, no matter where you live,” Farren said.

YRMC Primary Care- Foothills can be reached by calling (928) 336-1815.

For YRMC Primary Care-Foothills, the grand opening is set for Saturday, December 1. There, they will hold a Teddy Bear Clinic. Children are encouraged to bring their own teddy bear for checkups or take home one of 500 teddy bears that will be given away.
