Sessions departure sparks protest in Yuma
Yuma commuters driving along one of Yuma’s busiest intersection were greeted by a protest led by the Yuma County Indivisibles. The grassroots group came together after news that President Donald Trump called for the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Close to 30 members took to 4th Avenue to protest President Trump’s decision and displayed signs with slogans like “Dump Trump” and “No one is above the law”. Participants were outraged when President Trump announced that Matthew Whitaker would take Sessions’ post. Whitaker, who has been described as a Trump loyalist, has already made it clear that he will not recuse himself from the Mueller investigation.
The Yuma County Indivisible group joined other groups across the country who are declaring that the president has crossed a red line and are calling on C ongress to take action.
