Grijalva and Gosar win Arizona’s 3rd and 4th Congressional Districts

This election day we want voters to know who they are voting for in regards to state representatives in District 3 and 4 along with the Arizona Governor.

Let’s first start with Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District candidates, Democrat Raul Grijalva and Republican candidate Nick Pierson. Grijalva has represented the district in the House since 2013, but now 235 seats in the House belong to Republicans, while the Democrats have 193. District 3 extends south to the Mexican border, encompassing Nogales, Somerton, San Luis and parts of Yuma County.

According to the Associated Press, Grijalva has been re-elected as the District 3 Representative and is looking forward to tackling key issues with fellow Democrats in control of the House. News 11 spoke with Grijalva before the results where he said Infrastructure among other issues would be the first on his list.

“The thing we have to do right away is the Infrastructure bill,” said Grijalva. “It begins to rebuild roads, waterways, the bridges, and infrastructure in general. It will provide 5 to 6 million good paying jobs across the country including in Yuma County.

For Arizona’s 4th Congressional District we have Republican Paul A. Gosar, being challenged by Democrat David Brill for the House seat.

Brill is a primary care physician who is running for Congress because he believes the “cut-and-spend” approach of our diminished government is not serving our citizens well.

Paul Gosar is focused more on bringing jobs back to the district, fighting illegal immigration and securing our border. District 4 represents the northwestern part of Arizona down to Yuma and wraps around the Phoenix area down to Florence.

The Associated Press has also confirmed Gosar re-elected as the District 4 Representative, with Healthcare as his top priority for his next term.

“It’s taking away the inurement and claims that antitrust exemption from the medical insurance industries,” said Gosar. “They [insurance companies] can actually compete for our dollars and compete for our business and provide solutions that are driven patient center and patient focus. I think this opens up all doors to now accountable and affordable health care, that people are empowered instead of victimized.”
