Police: 2 suspects arrested after fatal shooting in Chandler

Police in Chandler said two men have been arrested after a fatal shooting.

They say 18-year-old Joseph Caballero and 30-year-old Matthew Vacaneri went to a home early Sunday and allegedly were trying to “sell the services” of two women who were with them to 29-year-old German Roman Medina.

Police say an argument started over the cost Medina was charged for the women.

A scuffle followed and Medina was shot in the chest.

Both suspects fled from the scene with the women and Medina died at a hospital.

Police say Caballero was arrested in San Tan Valley Sunday night while Vacaneri was taken into custody in Chandler.

Both men are jailed on suspicion of first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

It’s unclear if either Caballero or Vancaneri has a lawyer yet.
