California unemployment rate falls to 4.1 percent in September

California’s unemployment rate reached a new record low level dating back to 1976, according to data released by the California Employment Development Department.

The unemployment rate decreased to 4.1 percent in September and a total of 3,013,300 jobs were gained since the economic expansion that began in February of 2010.

From September 2017 to September 2018, there was an increase of 339,600 jobs which is up to two percent.

The unemployment rate in Imperial County is now 19.3 percent as of September 2018, down from a revised 20.4 percent in August 2018.
