CBP canine finds $122K worth of meth inside vehicle

A Customs and Border Protection canine helped officers discover more than $122,000 worth of methamphetamine hidden inside a man’s vehicle at the Port of San Luis Tuesday morning.

CBP officials said a 20-year-old legal permanent resident, driving a Toyota sedan, attempted to enter the United States from Mexico. A CBP canine alerted to the Toyota. This led officers to the discovery of multiple packages of meth hidden throughout the vehicle. The narcotics, valued at more than $122,000, weighed about 41 pounds.

Officers confiscated the drugs and vehicle. The 20-year-old man was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
