Yuma Scholarship Pageant holds bowling fundraiser at Inca Lanes
On Saturday, the Yuma Scholarship Pageant organization held a bowling fundraiser at Inca Lanes.
Each year, the Miss America organization offers millions of dollars in scholarships to young women.
The Yuma Scholarship Pageant organization is working to help young girls in the community to further their education.
The Miss America organization is one of the largest providers of scholarships to women in the world.
The Yuma Scholarship Pageant group is the only Yuma pageant affiliated with Miss America.
According to their website, the group’s mission is to “produce excellent young women with an educational direction.”
The four titleholders of the organization are Cassidy Legros, Allie Van Dyn Hoven, Theodora Baker and Kyla Giroux.
Allie Van Dyn Hoven, Miss City of Yuma said her favorite part about being in this group is that “You really become a sisterhood. You learn about these girls, you become best friends with these girls, and they become your sisters. You just learn everything about them, you learn their favorite foods and we are all just so close. I really love what the organization does to bring us together.”
The bowling fundraiser helped to raise funds for the scholarships that go to the contestants of the pageant.
Winners of the pageant are able to receive up to twelve hundred dollars and two free semesters at Arizona Western College.
