YPG has reopened for business and personnel will be admitted at the access control points immediately, but are still authorized to start work at the previously announced report time of 9:00 a.m.
YPG said streets and roads are still wet and may have debris, so please exercise caution while driving.

Traffic lights are now running as normal along 8th Street at 4th Avenue and Orange Avenue, tweeted the City of Yuma Monday evening.
City crews will continue to work this evening by visiting areas prone to flooding. Officials are warning the community to watch for flooded roadways and traffic control devices.

Harvest Preparatory Academy has announced Monday evening that classes have been canceled due to weather conditions. Classes are expected to resume Wednesday.

Due to the weather conditions, the Calexico Community Outreach event scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled. Officials said they will notify the community when they plan to reschedule the event.

Officials at the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma will reduce operations until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday due to potential flooding and weather hazards associated with tropical storm Rosa. For more information, click here.
The Yuma Proving Grounds will resume their operations no earlier than 9:00 a.m., according to the YPG Commander. Personnel who arrive earlier than 9:00 a.m. will not be able to gain access from gate guards. For updates, you can visit YPG’s Facebook page.

The City of Yuma is reporting power outages at 4th Avenue and 8th Street and 8th Street and Orange Avenue. These intersections are still without power. Officials are recommending residents to treat these intersections as four-way stops until power is restored.

The lighting ceremony for Domestic Violence Awareness Month that was scheduled for Monday night at Amberly’s Place has been canceled and rescheduled for Thursday, October 4, due to safety reasons.

APS crews are still working on power outages across Yuma County as approximately 1,800 customers remain without power.
This is after Hurricane Rosa made it’s initial appearance on Sunday.
The Arizona Motor Vehicle Department is also without power.

The National Hurricane Center said Yuma is expected to receive showers and possibly a thunderstorm. It is expected to be cloudy and breezy, with an east wind of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Rainfall amounts are expected to be between a quarter and half of an inch possible for showers, according to the NHC.
As for tonight Yuma County can expect rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch, according to the NHC. .
Residents in the Foothills have called and reported to News 11 that they do not have water at this time.
News 11 successfully contacted Far West Water & Sewer Co and received no comment on the situation.
(10:34 PM) YPG statement: In January 2010, a sustained rain caused running washes that closed roads and forced an emergency evacuation of more than 400 personnel from portions of YPG. In a proactive attempt to prevent a similar situation from occurring again, YPG Commander Col. Ross Poppenberger has ordered all regular operations suspended at YPG for Monday, October 1st. Non-emergency personnel are to stay home and await additional notice Monday.

There are 16 power outages in Yuma County affecting hundreds of customers, according to the APS outage map. Various estimated repair times.
All classes are still in session for Monday, but YUHSD officials are telling high school students that live at Yuma Proving Ground to not attend classes tomorrow. Their absence tomorrow will be excused.
(6:10 PM) The Yuma area officially has .63 inches of rain after the initial band has passed through while the Imperial Valley started receiving heavy rainfall around 5 pm. El Centro has officially received about .25 of rain. This while Imperial accumulated more than .75 inch of rain in less than 30 minutes.
Expected continued waves of rainfall throughout the night and into Monday and Tuesday; which could give us more heavy downpours to come (especially on Monday night), as Rosa approaches and passes through our area.

The Desert Southwest is feeling the effects of Hurricane Rosa as it brings rain to our area.
Sunday through Tuesday Arizona will see dangerous weather due to the tropical moisture from Hurricane Rosa as it will deliver heavy rain and possible flooding.
The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a Flash Flood warning for Yuma County until 5 p.m.
The Yuma Fire Department said if you still need sandbags and sand please go to City of Yuma Public Works now at 155 W 14th Street. There is also sand available at the Yuma Civic Center.
