Man found dead with multiple stab wounds

Imperial County Sheriff’s Office said a deceased man found in a rural area might have died from multiple stab wounds.

Twenty-seven-year-old Antonio Javier Roldan was found dead near Ross Road and Bowker Road, between El Centro and Holtville at around noon on Monday.

Authorities said a passerby in the area saw the body and reported it.

Roldan was a Calexico resident. The case is being investigated as a homicide.

Lt. Jimmy Duran said, “The evidence indicates and our processing of the scene indicates that he had multiple injuries that led to his death, including some potential stab wounds. At this point there’s no indication of gun shots, but then again, we do have scheduled autopsy which will reveal the cause and manner of death.”

The family of Roldan has a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses. Roldan’s funeral will be on the 18th at Hems Mortuary in Calexico and his burial on the 19th following a mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
