Search warrant leads to arrest on gun and drug charges

The Yuma County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant early Friday morning that led to the arrest of a Yuma man, the seizure of multiple narcotics, and a weapon.

The task force, that involves officers from the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, Border Patrol, Yuma Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations, served a narcotics search warrant at a home located in the 800 block of West 20th Place in Yuma.

With the help of a YCSO canine, the task force discovered around 430.4 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of cocaine, 7.4 grams of marijuana, 16 narcotic pills, additional paraphernalia items with characteristics of street sales, and a loaded handgun. The narcotics seized had a combined estimated street value of $9,422.00.

The search warrant’s suspect, 31-year-old Julio Enriquez, of Yuma, was arrested. Enriquez was booked on multiple charges that include possession of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor.
