Nominees set for 18th annual Tribute of The Muses

The list of nominees for the annual Tribute of the Muses award have been announced as it will celebrate its 18th anniversary on October 12 at 7 p.m.

Tribute of the Muses honors one recipient for their outstanding efforts and devotion in arts throughout Yuma community.

The nominees range from artists, performers, educators, advocates, and patrons. The winner will receive a custom art award entitled “Kairo’s Kiss”, designed and created by local artist, Joanna Cardenas.

“Tribute of the Muses is our local Oscars meets Met Gala,” said Arts and Culture Program Manager, Lindsay Benacka. “It is a celebration of every discipline of the arts and recognizes community members.”

Eight additional nominees will compete for the eighth annual Helios award, which is given to the top newcomer in the arts community.

The ceremony will be held at the Historic Yuma Theatre located at 254 South Main Street. It opens to the public at 6 p.m. and admission is free.
