Three men arrested in connection to armed robbery

Three men were arrested in connection to a possible armed robbery in the area of 650 North Imperial Avenue Saturday evening.

The Brawley Police Department said they responded to the area of 650 North Imperial Avenue after receiving reports of an armed robbery. Officers arrived at the scene and contacted a woman who told authorities that three individuals had committed a robbery against her and used a firearm and knife.

An investigation led police to the arrest of the alleged suspects inside a home at the 600 block of North Imperial Avenue. The suspects were identified as 18-year-old El Centro resident, Armoune Smith, a 17-year-old El Centro resident, and a 16-year-old Brawley resident. The name of the underaged suspects will not be released due to their age.

Officers also located the alleged firearm and knife used in the incident. Police said the firearm was found to be an imitation handgun.

Authorities said the victim did not sustain any physical injuries during the incident. All three suspects were booked into criminal custody.
