Woman found with meth worth more than $318K

A 39-year-old woman from San Luis was arrested after a failed smuggling attempt of more than 100 pounds of methamphetamine on Friday, according to the US. Customs and Border Protection.

CBP said the woman was referred to additional inspection after attempting to enter the United States from Mexico when an alert by a CBP narcotics detection canine to a scent it was trained to detect.

Agents discovered packages of meth throughout the vehicle that weighed approximately 106 pounds.

The value of the narcotics is estimated at $318,000.

CBP said they seized the drugs and narcotics and the woman was turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
