Man who admitted to shooting wife faces new charges

The Yuma man who admitted to shooting his wife in the head appeared in Yuma Justice Court Monday.

Mark Villicana is now facing four felony charges that include two charges of aggravated assault, attempted second-degree murder, and disorderly conduct.

He was originally being held in Yuma County Adult Detention Center on one charge of attempted first-degree murder with domestic violence.

A victim’s representative was present in the courtroom and said that the victim asked to reaffirm the no-contact order between her and Villicana.

She is still in serious condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix.

His bond is still set at $500,000.

Villicana will be back in Friday afternoon.

There has been an account started to help the victim with medical expenses.
