“Twenty-five-years here in Yuma, 25 years with the Nutcracker. This will be a wonderful celebration of what Ballet Yuma has brought to the Yuma community as an art form for ballet. Were gonna have a wonderful season this year. The nutcracker will be changed up just a little bit so it will be a surprise but people will come enjoy the nutcracker December seventh ,eighth and ninth at Synder auditorium, ” said Coleman.

Artistic directors were looking for technique, the ability to follow direction, to be able to catch the choreography quickly and also for students who are great listeners.

Auditions seems to get bigger every year and Coleman says she is always looking forward to it.

“I feel like that I’m not sure if it does but I feel like every year the excitement builds wondering who’s going to audition what’s going to happen and every year I see a seas of girls a sea of boys and it feels like a lot of students participate,” said Jennifer Coleman.
