Man involved in Yuma and Somerton shooting appears in court

The man involved in a shooting that injured two people appeared in court Wednesday.

Thirty-three-year-old Daniel Muñoz’ attorney hoped to get a one-week extension for the case.

Muñoz was granted a continuance for a change of plea that will take place on September 26.

He will also have a hearing for a recent 3rd party discover motion which will take place on October 3.

ORIGINAL STORY: Police identify suspect involved in Yuma shooting

Police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the 2000 block of S. Avenue A on Wednesday, at approximately 12:02 p.m.

When they arrived they found the two victims with gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

He is facing charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and criminal damage.
