Head Coach Wilks on Cardinals loss: ‘This one game doesn’t define our season.’

An upsetting loss for the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm St adium with a 24-6 loss vs. the Washington Redskins, allowing the Redskins to get their first season-opening win under Head Coach, Jay Gruden.

The Cardinals had a rough time on both ends of the field, leaving many fans on edge. Head Coach, Steve Wilks expressed his disappointment in the press conference, saying he saw the fundamentals and technique play out on the field, but what the team failed to do overall is execute. Many fans booed the team throughout the game.

“Yeah we heard them booing… I mean we did not give them anything good to watch …Fans are going to be fans. We just have to make sure we stay on course, we have to make sure we keep our eyes on the prize. We have 15 games left, 15 weeks left…We want to make sure we put this behind us and don’t let it show up again,” said Cardinals Cornerback, Adrian Peterson.

The rough four quarters on the gridiron include Washington having possession of the rock for 38 minutes, that is more than the Cardinals 21 minutes. Redskins rushed for 182 yards, and Adrian Peterson had 96 yards and a touchdown. But, should fans worry? DT, Corey Peters believes this was a bad start, but there is no reason to be concerned.

“There is no reason to panic, but this is not ok. This is not acceptable, everyone has to take a good look in the mirror and kind of point that finger at themselves because when you fail at this level, everybody carries the blame,” Cardinals DT, Corey Peters.

However, Head Coach Wilks keeps the faith alive by adding, “This one game doesn’t define our season.”

The Arizona Cardinals will try to move forward from this game on Sunday when they face the Rams in Los Angeles.
