Hit-and-run causes Yuma residents to lose power
A hit-and-run accident Wednesday night that happened in the 2100 block of West 8th Street knocked out the power of hundreds of customers.
Yuma police said officers located a white vehicle at the scene that had been struck and found that an APS power pole had also been hit. APS crews are currently in the area attempting to restore power.
Witnesses told police another vehicle was involved and had fled the scene.
No injuries were reported. Authorities said the roadway on 8th Street from Magnolia Avenue to Avenue B will remain closed as repairs are made.
APS said power is expected to be restored by 10 p.m.
The collision remains under investigation.
