Fire investigators say residential fire was intentionally set

Yuma Fire investigators have determined the cause of the fire on Friday was set intentionally inside.

The Yuma Fire Department said the house had been vacant for some time and no injuries or other damages have been reported. The arson investigation is still ongoing and if you have any information you are urged to contact Yuma Police Department or remain anonymous by dialing 78-CRIME. (782-7463)

Any information that could lead to an arrest could be a reward up to $1,000 cash.

ORIGINAL STORY

Friday night at about 8:45 p.m., Yuma Police Department officers responded to a residential fire in the 900 block of S. 1st Ave.

Nearby residences were evacuated and the 900 block was closed for approximately one hour.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
