Habitat for Humanity helps the Lopez family with new home

Habitat for Humanity is awarding a resident in Wellton an opportunity of a lifetime with a new home.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that has helped build over 200,000 homes for low-income families.

Nancy Lopez is now the proud owner of a new house in the Wellton area and says the non-profit organization has helped her in ways she didn’t believe possible. Lopez has been apart of the construction from the very beginning.

” Well we started from the bottom, we had crew here, we had my family here and my boss did a lot for me. Thank you. It’s new, it’s mine and I helped build it,” said Lopez.

Janet Hernandez is the Director of the non-profit organization and says Lopez is very deserving and always involved.

” She’s willing to help and not a lot of people want to help with the construction of the house. She has been hands on from the beginning since the foundation… she has been painting.. she’s been cleaning.. so yeah she’s very excited to get her new home.”
